As some of you may probably know, yesterday saw the official coming of the iOS 4.2.1 for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. So far, the reviews we’ve been hearing for this update is quite efficient. Anyway, the little buzz that’s starting to screech around the blogoshphere for today is the ability to jailbreak this OS so soon! For those who are familiar, you should understand that even before the iOS 4.2 release date, there has got to be tons of news about how to jailbreak and unlock iOS 4.2 on the future.

So far, our first iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak program for the day will be Redsn0w 0.9.6b3 by the iPhone Dev Team. This program features you to install openSSH and SSL support making you not install the independent pack of Cydia, which is lucrative because it was broken into parts on iOS 4.2.1. But before you proceed, take note that you should not jailbreak using this program if you are planning to unlock your device because this will 100% make you lose your current baseband making you lose the ability to unlock your phone – perhaps forever in the future. Anyway, if you are still interested you can check all the details here. So far, this jailbreak is both available on Mac or Windows.
If you will ask my opinion, I would certainly not go for this jailbreak until I hear a valid confirmation of a new jailbreak that would let me retain my basedband to future unlock it. And my choice would be Limera1n – Limesn0w.
