Folks, the moment of truth is finally here! And in case you were miserably counting the days until when you’ll see the first iOS 4.3.1 Untethered Jailbreak, the iPhone-Dev Team has finally revealed Redsn0w 0.9.6 tool which delivers that promise, provided that this JB won’t work with the iPad 2 and other low-gen igadgets.
For starters, the exploit for this one was found by Stefan Esser – you know? The guy who tweeted last week that RedSn0w (iOS 4.3.1 beta) is already available. As of the moment, this JB would work on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (AT&T), iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad 1 – AppleTV 2G users, use Pwnage Tool for this.
Again, the main reason why this update won’t work with the iPad 2 is because the exploit for this is different. And the bootrom exploits discovered on Limera1n / Greenpois0n last year has already been hardware patched on the second-gen iPad so you’ll need to wait for Comex on this one.
Take note, for all limera1n / greenpois0n / ultrasn0w users who have jailbreak their device before, make sure you don’t use RedSn0w 0.9.6 as it might produce some problems. Check it here.
The instructions and guide on doing this is exactly the same with any jailbreak. Get the full guide here.
