Ah yes! After the numerous delays not to mention, the premature releases of the iPad 2 Jailbreak, its now confirmed the official JB tool for the latest Apple tablet is already here and you can access it via JailbreakMe’s site.
For those who haven’t used JailbreakMe before, this is a web-based JB tool which is practically the easiest thing to use among other jailbreak software like RedSn0w, Limera1n, etc. Naturally, JailbreakMe 3.0 is a untethered type of JB and this means, you don’t need to jailbreak your iDevice everytime you reboot it.
This tool will work on all iOS 4.3.3 compatible devices namely: iPhone 3GS / 4 (AT&T or Verizon), iPod Touch 3G / 4G; iPad 1 and iPad 2 — all up to iOS 4.3.3 (iOS 4.2.8 for the CDMA iPhone 4). This means that previous iOS 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 won’t be supported by this jailbreak as well.
For those who are asking if that so-called “PDF Virus” would ruin JailbreakMe again like it did to 2.0, Comex revealed the PDF Patcher 2 which you can install after the Cydia to patch this bug exploit.
For those who are unaware, those users who have already JB their device up to iOS 4.3.3 using RedSn0w can also use this to re-jailbreak your device; although it’s not advisable but it should still work.
Just like any other Jailbreak, this one is reversible and you can simply resync the original iOS 4.3.3 version via iTunes and you’re good to go! However, our developer tries to warn everyone that when the iOS 5 arrives, this privilege might be changed although as usual, the iPhoneDev team remains positive that they will find another loophole (like in the past history) when Apple reveals its iOS 5 in the public this September.
And oh, one more thing! This is not an unlock tool for your iPhone 4, luckily, our developer didn’t mention any baseband compatibility problems for JailbreakMe 3.0, so in case you want to Jailbreak your iP4 today and have plans of unlocking it in the future, you have the greenlight!
