We were very pleased to report about the recent iPad 2 event that happened today, and while most of you are wondering if the predictions before were correct, you should know that most of them came true if we are talking about its specifications.
Anyway, as for its price and shipping details, the following details announced by Apple is highly impressive. Unlike last year where it took Apple two months before they revealed the first iPad on the public market, the iPad 2 is miraculously going to be available for shipping next Friday (March 17) available on Apple!
Most importantly is the price. Just as promised, Apple managed to maintain the same price for the second generation iPad whereas the cheapest would be tagged at 499 USD (WiFi only model 16GB) and the most expensive is the 64GB WiFi + 3G model tagged at 829 USD. Obviously, this is a cut to the throat against Motorola Xoom and LG G-Slate’s price hanging on $800 / $700 respectively.
While that predictions about Apple revealing a 399 USD worth of iPad didn’t materialize, the case is still thrilling! And I highly doubt users would still mind shelling out the same price tag, getting two times the CPU power, packing with tons of new features — all in a new and sexier iPad.
Also, you’ve got to applaud Apple of revealing its pre-ordering date ahead than most of us have expected. This is something companies should learn – “Sell your goods while the buzz is still hot!”.
If you’ll ask me, if I don’t have any tablets, I would certainly buy this one next week!
