There are some ongoing rumors that T-Mobile USA is having some talks with Apple regarding iPhone 4’s possible release under T-Mobile USA. And according to some reliable source, there is an 80 percent possibility that this partnership between Apple and T-Mobile will push through in the very near future. It is estimated that the said plan will already materialize within the third quarter of the year.
Apple’s iPhone is exclusively distributed through AT&T and this exclusive contract is about to end very soon. With this, there is a great possibility the Apple will be offering the iPhone in other wireless networks. Some people have expected that Apple will go for Verizon Wireless, which is the country’s largest, network provider. But apparently, there are some problems to deal with when it comes with its hardware. This has something to do with Verizon’s CDMA technology.
According to some analyst, it will be much easier for Apple to tie up with T-Mobile since with this network; the iPhone will not need any major hardware changes anymore. And as of present, there are already some T-Mobile customers that used unlocked iPhone devices.
As of present, T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Telekom already carries the iPhone in Germany. And according to Deutsche Telekom’s CEO Rene Obermann, T-Mobile USA is getting the iPhone and hopes to start selling it within this year or early next year. It seems that with these words from Deutsche CEO, we can strongly say that all the rumors are true; T-Mobile USA will be releasing Apple’s iPhone 4 very soon.
With this news coming, there are some analysts also questioning the compatibility of iPhone 4 with T-Mobile’s 3G network. This question on 3G compatibility was raised because the iPhone 4 specs revealed that it has the 2100 band and not 1700 band. Neither T-Mobile nor Apple has made any comment regarding this.
Basically T-Mobile’s iPhone 4 is equipped with a 3.5-inch sensor display which is on the IPS matrix basis supporting multitouch technology and comes with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels. It also has a 5 megapixel camera with a steroid flash and HD video recording function in the 720p format.
The T-Mobile iPhone 4 also includes the following:
- 0.3 megapixel camera on the front panel
- Battery of up to 7 hours talk time
- Wi-Fi Controller
- Bluetooth 2.1
- GPS
- Digital compass
The iPhone 4 is already on sale in Great Britain, France, Germany and Japan. In the U.S. the iPhone 4 T-Mobile is expected to be available by the 3rd quarter of this year and estimated to be offered at a price of $199 and $299. We’ll it looks like a good partnership after all.
