Well look what do we have here? Just when we’re 99% sure Apple will announce iPhone 5 on October 4, some reports on the blogosphere suggest it may not be called like that but rather, as the iPhone 4S.
For those who are unaware, “iPhone 4S” is the model we first heard from leaked sources suggesting it will be Apple’s next-generation handset, simply because the upgrade it will have is minimal and the real iPhone 5 will only hit next year. However, this rumor-mill was debunked later in which undisclosed individuals pointed iPhone 4S & iPhone 5 might be announced by Apple on the same date, the former to be similar with iPhone 4 but it will be available globally on a cheaper price.
As of today, the saga for iPhone 4S lives on and this time, it appears some claim there’ll be no iPhone 5 this year and 4S will take over with the specs intended for it like 8MP camera upgrade, A5 CPU and a slimmer profile.
But what about its price? Considering the path of iPhone 4S will be the first case scenario: similar with iPhone 4 but will be available worldwide, its price should dance around $99-$149 with contract. However, if it’ll follow the second scenario: iPhone 4S = iPhone 5, its pricing should be the same on all the previous model on their debut: 16GB WiFi only for $499 with contract and so on.
Likewise, the moment of clarity will only arrive when Apple reveals this next month. What do you think?
