It’s selling like pancakes folks as Apple’s iPhone 4S has hit a record number of sales on its first weekend; just imagine four (4) million units being sold! Will it surpass Microsoft Kinect’s record this time? Another round of Apple vs Microsoft, anyone?
With its unprecedented success, Apple can surely boast and brag in the smartphone market as pre-orders of the unit reached a million in the first 24 hours. Just to give us an idea on how the lower iPhone versions compare to the new 4S reveals that the older version solds on a slower basis. The Phone 4 took 3 weeks to sell 3 million units while the original iPhone took roughly more than two months or 74 days to sell a million devices.
The 4S sure hit the jackpot in terms of sales and the device may even beat and surpass Kinect as the fastest-selling gadget of all time. It may be noted that Kinect sold over 8 million units in its first two (2) months on sale. The 4S meanwhile has already reached 4 million on its first weekend and who knows what this number may be come two or three weeks from now.
