Rumors are still abound before the much awaited iPhone event. Apple fanboys are still confused about its name, would it be called iPhone 4s or iPhone 5? Nobody knows for sure, well except Apple, of course! Meanwhile, another alleged information went out from the wild claiming that the new iPhone might sport the powerful A5 processor, like the iPad 2.

The information is still unconfirmed so take it with a grain of salt. But if it’s indeed true, we’re looking at a “super” iPhone. Using the same GLBenchmark 2.1 data from the iPad 2 (see above), we can see that the nearest competitor from the bunch is Samsung Galaxy S II, equipped with the new Exynos 4210 SoC with quad-core Mali-400 GPU.
Reportedly, the Galaxy S2-equipped Mali-400 is currently the fastest smartphone GPU in town – but it’s not even close with iPad 2′s SGX 543MP2 GPU. And obviously, if the same ARM processor is installed in iPhone 5/4s, it would be the best. However, it’s still in theory since the A5 processor requires a lot of power. And with the current battery pack of iPhone 4, Apple needs to tone down the embedded CPU or upgrade the battery unit of the new handset if it’s adamant on equipping it with A5. Using this new chip would allow apps to run faster on the iPhone.
Everything will be cleared once the new iPhone is unveiled. Stay tuned.
