After the media covered much about anything about the upcoming iPhone 5, including its possible price, upgrades and release date; an interesting news was revealed today about the possibility of iPhone 5 to receive an OTA update, which was debunked by some pundits since the idea is “too big” to come true.
So the story came from several sources, whereas the information acquired was the plan of Verizon and Apple to start delivering iOS updates via “over the air / wireless” instead of the usual plugged-in way via iTunes. Expected release date to arrive this Fall or when the iOS 5 has been revealed on June.

Naturally, many pundits have reacted with this insider report. First, should Apple decides to push this new OTA feature, they should figure out a way to reduce the filesize of its upcoming iOS updates. Just try to think of downloading a 600-800MB file then you suddenly got disconnected from the internet – you got the picture?
Next, it’s obvious this feature will be a highly-coveted one by the users, and it’s very likely this capability won’t be for Verizon iPhones only. You can count AT&T on that!
While the idea is grandiose, we’re still crossing our fingers for this newly fangled capability. For all we know, Apple is planning to launch an iTunes cloud-based network, maybe it also have something to do with the new iPhone OTA update as well! What do you think?
