It might be too soon to talk about the future of iPhone 5 in terms of jailbreaking it to its very core, but since the iPad 2 is having a heck of a time being cracked by our valiant developers, it’s obvious the case would be something similar when Apple revealed its next-generation iPhone device.
For starters, you should know that since last March, the iPhone-Dev-Team and other JB hackers are working to figure out how will they find a new exploit for the iPad 2. At first, we thought it would be fast since Comex tweeted that picture, but it turns out that loophole was fixed by Apple already and of course, the developers are trying to find a new hardware exploit which will be impossible to be patched using a software method – preferable by most hackers since the only way to patch it is through a release of another device model.
In the case of the iPhone 5, many pundits are starting to believe that Apple would be even smarter and will try to add more security features for it to become “un-jailbreakable”.
So far, it’s still not yet confirmed if this next-gen device will be merely called as “iPhone 4S” packing with minor upgrades or the iPhone 5 users are dreaming about. If it’s the former case then there’s a minute possibility the loophole which is widely being exploited by our JB developers on the iPhone 4 might still be there; otherwise, it would be a long and painful journey for all users who love to jailbreak their iDevices.
