Despite a number of court skirmishes, a so-so fiscal year, the emergence of some bugs and the scramble to fix them, Apple is still chugging along like that famous little train and is said to be geared for a production dry-run of its seventh-gen iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5S.
According to a report by the DigiTimes and China’s Commercial Times, Apple has already begun producing somewhere between 50,000 to 100,000 units of the iPhone 5S. The reports also stated that the process for certifying the needed materials for parts have been fast forwarded by Apple, implying that production will be in full-swing by early 2013.
Of course, the rumour mill has started churning as well as fans and insiders put in their two cents regarding the iPhone 5S’ features. Some pseudo-analysts have theorized that based on the previous S releases (i.e the iPhone 4), the iPhone 5S will sport the same look but with a faster processor. Others are hoping that the new release won’t have the same problems as the original iPhone 5.
There’s no word yet verifying the new rumours surrounding Apple and when, if ever, the iPhone 5S will be released. But based on the those reports, analysts are saying that since production will go full blast in the 1st quarter of 2013, the iPhone 5S might be released sometime during the 2nd quarter of 2013.
