Posted on 02 September 2010 by pinoytutorial

After all the leaks and misadventures of this so-called iPhone’s ‘wingman’. Apple did reinvent it again, today. And boy! Who says you wouldn’t want an iPod Touch as a gaming-device?

Introduction

The whole buzz started when Steve, claims the iTouch is now the No. 1 portable game player in the world, outselling Nintendo and Sony handheld gaming devices, combined! Then following it up with these brag-lines: Like, the most popular iPod, the iPhone without the phone and the iPhone without the contract! – Which is all factual and correct.

So how can you make something as good as the iPod Touch be even more better? Well, if you’ll ask Steve, it’s all about making it even more thinner and sexier!

New Retina Display

Just like the iPhone 4, this one would have that amazing crystal-clear display as well. Pumping it with 4x the pixels at 326 ppi, 24 bit color, LED backlit. Basically, you can double the size of the current resolution of the iPod Touch, and the screen can still support it.

Facetime, iOS 4.1, 3-axis Gyroscope!

Just like what we predicted, the new iPod Touch would get all the goodies of its older brother. Starting from the rear camera which can record full-HD movies and a front-facing camera as well for Facetime.

Facetime you have on your iPhone 4 is also the same with this one, you can trim-edit your videos using iMovies. And enjoy listening to your music up to 40 hours.

Obviously, this one is even more faster, now that it’s using an A4 chip for its processor.

Form-Factor

While, Steve didn’t told the reason why this new baby won’t have the same rectangular metallic form-factor like the iPhone 4. It is obvious, that the reason behind this, is to give a greater distinction between it from the former.

And yep! It is thinner than the iPhone 4. Hard to imagine, isn’t?

Wrap-up:

Question still lingers, about what will happen to the old iPod Touch that we have? Can it still be swappable or we’ll just need to say adios to it, soon? Will the succeeding version of the iOS still be compatible with the iPod Touch 3G, or no?

While there’s still no answer for this one, coming from the horse’s mouth. I can assume that the old versions, would be treated like the other old iDevices we had before. It will continue to be sold at a cheaper price and then after a year, all of the production for it will stop. Meaning, the apocalypse for it.

There’s no doubt that this iPod Touch is the current most powerful of all the generations we had before. But one should also keep in mind, the ramifications of being in style and trend with these gadgets, because before the year’s end. It can be as old as those favorite socks on your drawer.

So what do you think, would you get the 4th Gen iPod Touch or not? Show us in the comments below.

I certainly plan on buying this Ipod. I’ve been waiting for it ever since I bought my first gen 8gb ipod touch. I plan on maybe waiting a week or 2 after release just to make sure there are no enormous flaws and to see if I can trade my 1st gen in for a reduced price.

Yup. I’m getting this iPod as a replacement to my 16GB iPod touch.

I’ve also preordered it. Can’t wait!!! Just wanted to say that whoever wrote this article needs to take an english class. Their overuse of commas and the use of terms like “even more better” literally made me cringe. It was painful to read.

aha, I prefer to get an Apple TV.
Well, I should say what made me most excited is the Apple TV. only $0.99 to stream HD TV rentals from ABC and Fox, while first run HD movies will be a less thrilling $4.99. Other services include Netflix, YouTube, Flickr, and Mobile Me, along with Rotten Tomatoes integration in the movie catalog. Awesome, so cool and amazing!
That means I don’t need to buy other converting tools anymore? I really love movies and video, if with this Apple TV, then I just stream the HD movies and enjoy witout need of converting by ifunia video converter and no syncing, totally stunned and can’t wait any more!!!!

Unfortunately, the retina display in ipod touch 4th gen is not as good as the one in Iphone 4. its only a 2nd rate retina display.

Good information. However the grammar was not very impressive. “While, Steve didn’t told the reason why this new baby…..” sorry but this sentence just doesn’t work.

I hear that this iPod is supposed to have an HD camera. I have the fourth gen and this camera is very poor quality. So, what the heck? Am I wrong?

Sensible comments/suggestions are always appreciated.
