While some of you may have been waiting about the latest development on the Google Nexus One for this day, recent sources have confirmed that iSlate (the closest, inevitable yet unconfirmed name of the Apple’s new tablet) will have its major announcement not on January 26 as predicted but on 27 or the 28th of Jan. With that, expect that all our questions about the ‘grandiose tablet’ will be put to rest. ![]()
According to mac4ever: Developers had been given an iPhone OS 4 SDK which includes a “simulator” for reformatting / scaling applications to a new, tablet-sized screen – Obviously, for beta testing purposes to make app’s compatible with the bigger resolution of the new tablet – and other purposes as well.
WSJ also stated that the rumored ‘Cupertino tablet a.k.a iSlate’ will be unveiled on a ‘10-11 inch size’ rather than the predicted ‘7incher rumor’ and will be ready for shipping this March at a price of $1000. Hmm? Its sources also suggest that the new tablet can “redefine the way consumers interact with a variety of content” – As if this something new to our ears? If you’ll follow the two patented technology Apple is promising for their iSlate then there’s no more doubt if this tablet can bring a new interactivity to users, ‘coz in fact it will (There goes my hunch again). You can read all of WSJ’s statement here (keep in mind that you need to subscribe first to savor all of its juices)
That’s it for the official headstart – Now here’s the bomb! I know on our last ‘iSlate Specs’ post we only tackled a very minute percentage about what’s the full specs of the new tablet. Today, recent leaks suggest that they have full specifications of the iSlate.
But grr, a fakey. Just by looking at the texture of this so-called ‘Apple islate document scanned paper send to an email of a phonearena diddlers’ you can judge that its dubious – But hey, we are posting this for the avid enthusiast to criticize this one. So let’s bring it now, shall we?
The real punchline for this one is the “Clouded Leopard v10.7 Mac OS X” – Even if you try to find the synonyms of Snow (Snow Leopard) the clouded term is still really hilarious. If you have another 60 seconds to burn then here are the other stuff I found which are highly ‘amusing’.
- Networking: Built-in 10/1000 BASE-T (Gigabit) Ethernet? Wow, I bet this tablet has a RJ-45 female socket too. Lol
- 7.1 inch (diagonal) widescreen. MultiTouch Display with intelligent feedback? Woh, what’s that again? “Intelligent Feedback” As I can recall the two patented tech has a name: Keystroke Tactility Arrangement on a Smooth Touch Surface, Touch Surface Controller – I don’t know where you can find the ‘Intelligent feedback there’. By the way, if WSJ’s “10 incher” post is official then this 7.1 inch drafted specs will be fictitious too.
- USB iSlate SuperDrive. I bet they have iSlate SuperBluRay Drive too, don’t they? :D
- 120 GB SATA with 4200 RPMS only? Is it year 2007 again?
- Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz (Back to the past my men)
Obviously, this so called rumored specs was made to stir the funny bone of geeks until the official specs leaks out. The strange thing though, is how Phonearena treat this ‘tipster of the day’ specs for real (As it appears to me) and woh, they even have time to put a watermark on the document? Way to go!
Anyway, we’ll keep you guys posted if ever there will be another new ‘rumor in town’ about the Apple Tablet, Hopefully what’s next can tickle us even more. Me? I’ll stick with the official statement.
