More and more people today are hooked on eBooks. That is why eReaders exists. And with the growing rate of eBooks, more and more companies are inclined to sell eReaders in the vast web market. And speaking of companies, a Japanese corporation known as KDDI has recently released its own version of eReader. Known as the “Biblio Leaf SPO2”, the device is set to hit the stores this coming Christmas day (December 25).

The white coated eReader from KDDI specializes in downloading, storing, and reading various kinds of eBooks. It is compact and approximately displays a 6-inch wide electronic paper. It is also very portable and only weighs around 296 grams.
Aside from this, Biblio Leaf SPO2 also provides the following features:
- Built-in mini solar panel
- 6-inch Monochrome Screen with 16 shades
- 800 x 600 display resolution
- 3G module
- Wi-Fi Connectivity
- Stylus pen
- microSD card slot and microUSB port
- reads PDF/EPUB formats with XMDF support
- 2 GB of internal memory (can store around 2,000 books)
- Long-lasting battery life (can read up to 13,000 pages)
- CDMA network support
Meanwhile, KDDI plans to increase the number of downloadable titles to 100,000 by the year 2012. So if you want to buy one, the eReader comes with an open price of ¥15,000 ($180) but can only be purchased in Japan.
