After all these years following the industry, I still find the origination of leaks a little bit mysterious simply because its source could be just about anyone or anything. Take for example this new report hinting the next-generation Amazon Kindle might be called Kindle Air.
So the source of this leak came from insiders who like to spot newly bought domains by big companies and just like that, a kindleair.com listing was unearthed from who.is bought by Amazon under its Legal Department for the registrant. Likewise, its registar homepage pointing to Marmonitor.com – home of the biggest websites in the world — is more than a proof this buyout came from the real mogul online shop.

Later on, it’s also found out Amazon bought other Kindle related domains like kindlesocialnetwork.com and kindlesocialnetworking.com. At this point, you might say the company is only protecting its brand to reason out this move but why KindleAir? Does it mean Amazon is planning to launch a product with a similar name?
Actually, the news for the fourth-generation of Kindle is nothing new. In fact, we’ve reported this one last month claimed to come in two models and its release date should arrive by the end of quarter. However, its still baffling to see Amazon using the word “Air” for its product which we all know is a popular brand used by that company with a fruit-shaped emblem.
In the end, all we have are speculations and for all we know, Amazon is about to release its flagship tablets this year as well. We’ll keep you guys updated!
