Ever since Kinect was publicly revealed last year, Microsoft has been teasing us with its plans for an Avatar-based title for the motion-sensing console enabling users to experience playing their self-created Avatar and use it for playing different types of games under Kinect Fun Labs.
As of today, the company finally launched Avatar Kinect along with Kinect Sparkler and both are now available for download under Xbox Live.
As described from its PR statement, the new game is a form of social entertainment bringing your avatar in to life. Just like what the previews have shown before, its system will try to mimic your smile, voice, even some of your facial expression to give that realistic touch on your Avatar. Take note, this is not a dancing game but rather, a social-interacting dimension in which you can invite up to seven of your friends wherein you can discuss anything on its 24 virtual worlds.
Meanwhile, it has other goodies letting you record your animated conversation with your friends and post it online with different social-media sites after you download it on KinectShare.com.
Lastly, we have the Kinect Sparkler which is a fun project under Kinect Fun Labs transforming your simple finger painting into a realistic “aerial light show” via the console’s motion tracking system. The whole game can let you draw your room in 3-D designing it virtually. After you’re done, you can also download it and share with your friends.
Avatar Kinect is now free for Xbox LIVE Gold members including standard LIVE members until September 8, while Sparkler will cost you 240 Microsoft Point ($3).
