The year 2010 has been evidently the year of the tablet PCs. While most of the tablet PCs available in the market today focuses more on media consumption and portability, Kno Inc. is trying something new. Kno Inc. is just a new company and apparently their first product to be launched in the market would be the Kno tablet.

This upcoming tablet stands out from the crowd with its size as well as its increased usability as compared with other tablets in the market today. The Kno tablet made its debut at the D8 and targets the education market which will give way for students to get textbooks easier into the digital age. Apparently, this tablet device will come with a dual-screen tablet as well as a lower cost single-screen solution that will be similar to the iPad and other tablet devices in the market.
The Kno tablet textbook device is believed to be the first of its kind in the world. Kno founders consider their tablet to be a device that will enable students to save money and cover the cost of a dual screen tablet within a period of 13 months of studies because their books are digital. Furthermore, the single screen version will be less costly that it will only take around seven months for a student to cover its cost.
The Kno tablet is being described as “the most powerful tablet anyone has ever made” as Kno Inc. made around $46 million investment in the product. The Kno tablet device is a stunningly book-like and can display a complete textbook without scrolling, it also opens flat like a book or folds back on itself as a single panel slate.
In addition to the abovementioned features, this upcoming tablet is also equipped with a 14.1 inch touch-screen display with a resolution of 1440x 900 and comes with a separate stylus for quick and easy interfacing. The Kno tablet is also expected to carry the NVIDIA Tegra processing platform, and also goes with an onboard web browser, and full support for Adobe Flash and textbooks converted into the PDF format.
So if you want to stand out from the crowd, the Kno tablet seems to be a good choice. The Kno Tablet textbook is said to be officially launching sometime by the end of the year. However, its price is still undisclosed as of the moment, but most likely it is expected to be lower than the $1,000 MSRP of larger devices.
