KT, South Korea’s second largest mobile carrier and exclusive distributor of Apple iPhone 3GS to Korea, have launched the mobile phone last November 28. It was reported that KT was expecting to sell 100,000-500,000 iPhone 3GS units. The iPhone 3GS units didn’t make too much buzz in Japan – selling 200,000 units since 2008. We’ll see if Mr. Jobs’ masterpiece will get a “chunk” in a Samsung-dominated mobile phone market.
We believe that the greatest mover of a product lies on 1)Product itself 2) Product sales and advertisements. The Apple iPhone is a great product but how about its advertisement? There were series of Korean iPhone 3GS video advertisements made to show Korean iPhone users the capability of America’s “most loved” handset. The korean videos depict some of iPhone 3GS most basic features such as cut, copy, paste, camera, video & sending video files via email.
Check these videos, although there are no translations nor subtitles available one can easily understand what the narrator wanted to share.
We’re not sure if KT or its sales team collaborated with apple (seems like they did) because of english iphone texts used in the video. Anyhow, we hope that iPhone will get alot of attention from techie Koreans. The movie clips didn’t show all of iPhone’s brilliant functions but at the very least it’s ‘very’ easy to understand.
