Here’s an interesting video that will teach you one of the secrets on Skyrim when you perform smithing and enchanting on a particular weapon.
Check out the video
As you can see from the clip, the uploader manage not to only create a Legendary glass sword but also imbued it with a new name (Skyward) after enchanting the weapon — which is a close kin of the iconic Skyward sword in The Legend of Zelda. Of course, it depends entirely on the player how he’ll name a weapon but this clip perfectly shows how smithing and enchanting blends perfectly with one another.
Just to give everyone a quick guide, glass greatsword has a basic stat of 24 damage, 22 weight and 820 value (damage varies on the level of your character upon creating it) which you can forge once you reached level 70 smithing. Ingredients needed are 2 refined malachite, 2 refined moonstone and leather strips (link).
At 0:16 mark, you can see the base stats of the glass great sword is already high reaching 76 damage. On upgrading it to legendary (7 malachite needed), the weapon reached 112 damage which is pretty high for a glass type of sword.
But we’re not done yet! Beginning 0:49 of the clip, you can see how you’ll be able to add enchantment on a legendary weapon which imbues it with elemental properties. Of course, aside from the weapon you’ll need a soul gem to continue the process of enchanting. The player adds the fire attribute on the weapon to make it a close replica of Zelda’s Skyward sword and in the end of enchanting, there’s a choice for players to add a new name for the weapon you made – in this case – calling it Skyward Sword.
Pretty cool huh?
