It was May when we first heard that rumored report about Lenovo joining in the tablet bandwagon by unleashing “several” tablets targeting the business and consumer group in the market. As of today, its now officially revealed to come in three flavors.
So the first one will be the Lenovo P1. Unlike its brother K1 running Android Honeycomb, this tablet will use Windows 7 for its platform. Now, before you throw in that “Windows not meant for tablet” line, you may want to hear out its specs first.
So the Lenovo Ideapad P1 will be under a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 resolution running 1.5GHz Intel processor (specifics not yet mentioned). Will pack 2GB DDR2 RAM, up to 64GB SSD storage and 2MP front-facing webcam (not mentioned if it has a rear cam). Likewise, it contains those usual goodies like Bluetooth & WiFi support, supports 3G network, expandable microSD card slot for extra storage; USB 2.0 connection and a docking port.
Meanwhile, this tablet can also work like a slate supporting stylus-based navigation. Just don’t ask us how sexy it is because its thickness expands to 14.5mm compare to Galaxy Tab 10.1’s razor 10.9mm. Battery can last up to 6 hours of continuous usage.
If you are interested, P1 will have its release date on the last quarter of this year and it’ll be available in Silver-gray or Clementine Orange color.
