Its now confirmed Lenovo LePhone S2 will have a partner once it gets a proper launch date on China as the company also unveiled LePhone K2 packing with a a beefier set of specifications than its sibling.
While the details for the smartphone are still scarce, pundits present on the event manage to get a closer look with K2. Upon inspection, it’s confirmed the handset will sport a 4.3-inch IPS display (resolution still pending), 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 CPU — similar with current superphones for this year like HTC Rezound; 1GB RAM, 1GB ROM, an 8MP shooter camera that can record 1080p (full HD) videos along with a front-facing cam with undisclosed image sensor. However, the test product shows it’s only running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) similar with other Lenovo products revealed on the event. Likewise, we hope those users who purchased these devices will receive an imminent Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) that may be revealed soon as an OTA update.
It’s important to mention that some sources suggest the brand “LePhone” and “LePad” will only become available in China whereas their counterpart monikers (e.g: IdeaPad) will one day cross the shore and hit western countries. Still, we keep our fingers crossed for the good news!
