While gadget hunters are still having that Cyber Monday hangover across United States, here’s an interesting report coming from Lenovo as the company unleashed four devices on its recently held tech event at Beijing, China.
So the first one we’ll be featuring is the Lenovo LePhone S2, which was first spotted last month although we’re not really sure what type of platform it’ll be using. Right now, it’s confirmed the smartphone will run Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) along with a set of mid-end specs like single-core 1.4GHz Qualdcomm MSM8255 CPU, 3.8-inch display 800 x 480 TFT display, 8MP shooter camera with 720p video-recording capability and a front-facing camera. Meanwhile, you can pick this one in two models: 512MB RAM with 8GB ROM or 1GB RAM with 16GB ROM. Sadly, both variants don’t offer a memory card slot.
Other important details included is of course, the price of S2 at RMB 2,990 equivalent to $470 (sans the carrier agreement) launching on China under TD-SCDMA. Likewise, don’t expect this phone to arrive in United States anytime soon.
For the device’s form-factor, it’s somewhat chubby with 10.9mm chassis and 120G weight (still good compared to its predecessor). It’ll also run a 1500mAh battery so expect the handset to run decently throughout the day.
