Just what you expected with Lenovo, they are introducing a fresh batch of lineups for its Thinkpad series that will upgrade the T, L and W models of last year. In case you might have remembered, last February saw the birth of the T410i, T410 and T510i.
As of today, these models are going in for a fresh overhaul as the company unleashes the Lenovo Thinkpad T420s, T420 and T520 laptops powered by Core i5 or Core i7 processor. Each laptop can be customized further if you want its screen size to be 14-inch w/ 1366 x 768 or 1600 x 900 resolution; 15.6-inch w/ 1366 x 768, 1600 x 900 or go for the widest one which is the 1920 x 1080 resolution.

In addition to that, each unit runs with NVIDIA NVS 4200M graphics card w/ Optimus Graphics switching technology which greatly lengthens the battery life of a notebook since it switches the mode of your device when you are using applications that aren’t a “resource hog” to your system. In fact, the company claims that the T420 model has a 9-cell unit battery that can last up to 15 hours, T520’s 9-cell unit lasting up to 11 hours and T420s lasting for 10 hours with its 6-cell regular battery.

Interestingly, when you combine T420 with the optional 9-cell unit (15 hours battery life) and you can have a grandiose total of 30 hours battery life on your laptop. The same calculation goes for the T420s / T520 if you’ll buy their respective optional battery packs as well.
Furthermore, these laptops will have other specifications such as 320GB HDD or 160GB SSD type storage, WiFi / Bluetooth support, USB 2.0, eSATA ports, intergrated webcam and a microphone.
These Thinkpads will have a release date on March 29, 2011 whereas the T420 will be tagged at 1,399 USD, T420 for 1029 USD and T520 for 999 USD.
