In a highly competitive industry, it seems that more and more companies are making their way to be the world’s leaders in cellphone technology. Take for instance, Motorola, LG, Samsung, Nokia and the list goes on. Perhaps if we count them beginning from A-Z, we would be filling a humongous list.
Now, LG is out to make customers wow with a new cellphone, the LG GW910 with is dubbed as having a filename code of LG Panther. The said smartphone is said to be an offshoot of the Moorestown phone GW 990 earlier promised by LG and Intel but remained idle after three years until it was not manufactured.
Moorestown chips are Intel’s brain child that were supposed to reduce Atom’s energy consumption by a factor of 20. It is a reduction of 20x UMPCs’ power. UMPC’s or Ultra Mobile Personal Computers refer to a small form factor version pen computer running a licensed copy of Microsoft’s Tablet PC operating system. This tablet PC is a wireless personal computer allowing one to take notes using natural handwriting with a stylus or digital pen. The company tells us today that instead of the Moorestown, they have more than reached their goal with the new Z6xx series.
Now in this line, new LG GW 910 has a Windows phone 7 hardware is a new generation mobile device which is faster and easier to use. It will be a 2G and 3G Network with a AMOLED capacitative touch screen which is 480 x 800 pixels and 3.5 inches. It has a unique nicely designed QWERTY Keyboard, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off. It has both alert and MP3 tones, a speakerphone with 3.5 mm audio jack, unlimited phonebook and call entries, GPRS of 32 – 48 kbps, a Bluetooth, a 2.0 micro USB, a camera of 5.0 MP with autofocus, Led flash and face and smile detection, a video of 72p, a Qualcomm Snapdragon, SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, Browser WAP 2.0, motion-based games, colors with GPS support, Java in MIDP 2.0, a battery of LI-Po and the list goes on.
In truth, it has amazing specifications, although the WLAN and Radio are not specified Windows 7 provides wireless connectivity. Also when it comes to activating your phone you need to sign up with your existing account or create a new one. This fact is not clear as to what information will be sent to your account. This product is due to be out sometime in the fourth quarter of this year with an undisclosed price.
