LG, a South Korean based electronics company, has released another portable personal computer (netbook) which they introduced during the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) last month. CES is a non-public trade show held every first month of the year in Las Vegas, Nevada where various product previews are introduced as well as new products being announced. This major technology-related trade show is mostly held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The LG X140 somewhat resembles another LG product, the X120. The X120 possessing a more traditional keyboard (such as the one found in Samsung NC10 )while X140’s keyboard is island-styled( the keyboard used in Sony Vaio W netbook). This netbook has a 10.1 inch Pantalla Liquid Crystal Display screen with 1024 by 600 pixel resolution. The X140 will be using a processor from Intel which is 32nm Pine Trail Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz 5.5W. The Pine Trail Technology from Intel is a platform or atom architecture of processors which is said to enhance a device’s performance and improve power consumption thereby adapting to the increasing market of netbooks and nettops.
LG X140 netbook will be using Microsoft Windows 7 Starter as its operating system and it will also have and internal memory of 1024 megabytes Double Data Rate 2 Random Access Memory. This device is said to have a hard disk drive of 160 Gigabytes. The X140 also has a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 feature and comes with a Celxpert 6-cell battery.
Another feature luring interested buyers and netbook enthusiasts is the LG X140’s 3G modem equipped with a SIM card slot that offers the users to connect to the internet. The 3G modem gets you connected anywhere by using mobile broadband, like we have seen on most 3G enabled phones. Still hoping to get the full details of this product. The price and release date is still unknown at the moment.
