This is not your ThinkPad okay! I know it has the same name as Lenovo’s gadget but I guess X300 is not exclusively for Lenovo so that means LG has the legal right to name one of their gadgets X300 but seriously I don’t get why LG has to do this. Maybe LG has an agenda and whatever that is it would definitely be something that will favor them.
People at the 2010 CES was dumbfounded to see that there is an X300 showing off on the red carpet and was even more amazed that it’s from LG and not a remake of Lenovo’s X300 ThinkPad! I would have to say that it’s as thin as Mac Air and unlike ThinkPad X300 that has everything built-in; expect LG’s X300 Ultraportable to do the opposite (so Lenovo can proudly say nothing beats the original). I have a snapshot of LG X300 specifications and as you can see it’s not a mouthful.
So this device will be yours with a price tag a little over $900 but definitely not over $1000 (from one of LG’s representative during the 2010 CES) it will display an 11.6in screen (1,366×768) screen injected with an Intel Menlow CPU at 2 GHz. You might be wondering why you didn’t hear nor see an Atom N450 huh?
Don’t worry this is another way of Intel to conserve energy, so you can expect a longer battery-life with Menlow too. As you can see the borderless touchpad is pretty unique and looks invisible too it will also have a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam which is not new to us plus a freebie of a 2-cell battery for a maximum of 7-8 hours operation from LG X300 (I’m not just quite sure if each battery provides 7-8 hours of life.
This one of course has Wi-Fi, 3G and capabilities to be in-sync with your Smartphone via Bluetooth. Plus you get a Solid State Drive rather than the conventional Hard Disk Drive. Oh and by the way the synchronization of the Lappie to you cellie will be supported by LG’s SmartPack a software suite for netbooks, laptops and mobile devices which will come handy in your X300. That means you can reply on sms via X300 with having to touch your mobile phone.
