Video chat has become popular with the advent of Skype. People around the globe talk with their loved ones in real time using their webcams and desktop/ laptop computers. However, with the introduction of Smart TVs and other HD peripherals, tech firms are now planning to revolutionize VOIP like never before. Logitech has revealed its TV cam that will enable high definition video chat in every household’s living room.

The Logitech TV cam is a 720p video camera that is compatible with the 2011 Panasonic Viera HDTV. The Viera TV set comes with the Skype software that enables users to make VOIP calls to their loved ones using just their TV set and an internet connection. The Logitech TV camera is a plug and play device that doesn’t need any installation. All you need to do is plug the camera to your Viera HDTV plus the internet cable (which should be rated at least 1Mbps for uninterruptible video couch conversation).
So what’s inside this TV cam peripheral? Well, it’s equipped with a Carl Zeiss optics and patented Logitech Fluid Crystal technology that delivers clear and crisp stream of images each and every time. It also has a 78-degree wide-angle lens, blue external lights and 2 directional microphones that reduce external noises and feedbacks.
The Logitech TV cam for Skype will be available this month for just a penny under 150 USD.
