We’ve just been tipped by our readers that some of them are experiencing problems while upgrading to OS X Lion today, and it’s characterized by this error notification “Invalid Serial”.
While this problem doesn’t seem to affect everyone, there’s a cluster of individuals who are reporting this on different social media groups. If you’ll check twitter and search for the query “os x lion serial number” you can see several tweets pointing out to this discussion.

The latest one belong to this post at the Apple forums suggesting this problem is for real. Likewise, it’s the same glitch which pops out whenever you’re trying to upgrade your previous OS to Lion.
So far, there’s no reply from any Apple representative. For the meantime, we’ve found some answers to remedy the situation like “waiting for a couple hours” before trying to upgrade again, to another one which is about changing your country to USA or UK (vice-versa). However, these answers are just temporary and if this problem persist until the next day, an official response should be made by the company.
Meanwhile, some users misunderstood the previous call of Apple enabling OS X Lion to be repeatedly installed with up to five Macs. You see, this only works for users with the same iTunes account; else, you need to buy the suite if you decide to use a different ID.

Not only do you get the message invalid serial number, on some games and apps the message is powerpc does not work on this os. Meanwhile I was sure all these apps were native x, what gives. Apple should have warned its customers I would have waited a few months to upgrade.
