It came, it saw, but did it conquer? That’s the obvious question many are asking about the new macbook pro recently revealed by Apple today.
Previously, we have covered all the things that you should expect with this device, starting from its Sandy Bridge CPU, to its Thunderbolt connectivity; heck, we even gave you that Black Macbook Pro as an example! Anyway, the new MBPs today looks really great as usual, and to start your journey, we will begin with the Macbook Pro 13 inch and 15 inch models.

At a glance, the Macbook Pro 13-inch features the latest dual-core Intel Sandy Bridge processor in which you have the option to pick either a Core i5 or Core i7 set-up packing with 2.7GHz of CPU power and running the all new Intel HD Graphics 3000, in which Apple touts this graphic card would be times three more powerful than the previous 2010 Macbook Pro units. Its RAM is set to 4GB, 320GB Hard Drive, which can go up to 500GB if you pick the Core i7 setup for a price of 1,499 USD; the Core i5 rig will be tagged at 1,199 USD which is the cheapest among all the Macbook Pro units
Next stop is the Macbook Pro 15-inch. This one is suited for those hardcore users in which its CPU would only be customizable on either a Core i7 Intel Sandy Bridge w/ 2.0 GHz running AMD Radeon HD 6000M (1GB memory) plus, a 500GB hard drive tagged at 1,799 USD. Or, the beefier Core i7 2.2GHz setup packing with AMD Radeon 6750M GPU, 750 GB HD capacity in which users will have the option to go for the 128GB / 256GB / 512GB SSD customization. Price for this one would be 2, 199 USD.
Both of these models would have the new Thunderbolt I/O technology which was developed by Apple and Intel, which greatly reduces the transfer time when you are transferring files. On a demonstration done by Apple, a 5GB file was transferred to a new drive in a couple of seconds. Thunderbolt is somewhat similar to the Light Peak technology although this one would be sticking to copper cables instead of optical cables for backward compatibility purposes.
Other goodies would include the iLife experience, the latest Mac OS X Leopard with an impending strike with the Lion due for a summer release; the full Mac App store experience, Facetime support and many more.
And you can order this one today at the Apple store!
