Kids may become a huge market for devices and Oregon Scientific is among the companies who are starting to recognize this fact. Oregon Scientific will unveil at Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) 109th American International Toy Fair its new gadget for kids called the MEEP! tablet. The new tablet may compete with other tablets in the market today, such as iPad, Kindle Fire and Samsung Tab, but its edge is the fact that the tablet is exclusively made for kids aged 6 and up.

In fact, the tablet features a tough design with enhanced rubber silicon sleeve to make the tablet durable for any rugged kid use. MEEP! features wi-fi and will run on an Android operating system. Kids are expected to enjoy using the tablet with its functionalities for videos, music, e-book reading. To make the design appealing, Oregon gave the table a big touchscreen measuring 7-inches.
The MEEP will enable kids to browse their favorite websites and play online games. Kid files can also be downloaded to its internal memory or into a memory card courtesy of an SC Card slot. Perhaps, the more important feature of this tablet is its capability to enable parents to control its use for any not-for-kids stuff. Parents will appreciate the tablet with its intuitive parental control functionality, which parents can access remotely using an internet-connected PC or mobile device.
We have yet to hear about MEEP! pricing and exact release date, but the device is expected to come before the holidays.
