Posted on 13 November 2009 by pinoytutorial

ATTENTION: Calling all fans who are tempted to use a PIRATED version of modern warfare 2 on their XBOX 360 and play it LIVE. Informationweek released a report about Microsoft penalizing as much as 1 Million gamers who used pirated softwares on Live™.

Microsoft has banned as many as a million players from Xbox Live for altering their consoles in order to play pirated versions of games.  We will be giving you a special report on that one but first, let us give you a quick pitch what is Modern Warfare 2 and why many gamers are dying just to get their hands on that game.

In case you live in the cold mountains of Tibet or the frigid tundras in the artic region, you may have missed the biggest game ever released for 2009. The unveiling of Modern Warfare 2 was so historical in U.K it’s predicted to exceed the One Million barrier sales beating Grand Theft Auto IV (The most expensive game of all time) by 20%. According to BBC

Hundreds of gamers gathered at shops around the world ahead of its release at 00:00 GMT. Retailer HMV has predicted more than 1m UK sales in the first week, 20% more than previous record holder Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV). Online shop Amazon said the pre-order sales were 50% higher than GTA IV. Play.com say that in the run up to launch it was getting more than 150 pre-orders per minute. The publishers of Modern Warfare 2, Activision, are cautiously predicting total sales of 3m across the UK whilst some analysts believe it could sell 10m copies globally in the run up to Christmas.

Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision, described it as “one of the largest entertainment launches of any media of all time“. Analysts believe the game could sell as many as 5m units globally on its first day.

Now the ModernWarfare2.net made a collation of “reviews” coming from game-critiques and the results are really impressive. For those skeptics who are still thinking this game is just a pretty-face and was overratedly promoted by media. Take a look at these excerpts. Could be exxagerated, nonetheless the reviews are very astounding except it didn’t manage to reach a pinnacle score of 10 out of 10 on gamespot, unlike GTA IV.

Here’s the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Official Trailer [HD]: Now, gathering 3.5 million viewers in youtube.

Okay ‘nuff of the historical release let’s go back to the BAN REPORT of Microsoft to the One million LIVE players.

“Xbox 360 consoles are equipped with digital rights management technologies designed to detect pirated software,” InformationWeek wrote, “but some players have successfully ‘modded,’ or modified, their machines to circumvent DRM protections.”

In a statement Microsoft said: its “commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of the Xbox Live community remains a top priority. All consumers should know that piracy is illegal and modifying their Xbox 360 console violates the Xbox Live terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox Live.

“When a Gamertag comes up as violating our policies for online behavior, the person who owns that Gamertag is punished by being banned from the service.”

Obviously, the last thing on earth InfinityWard would like to happen is to see their Highest Paying Game ever created only to be whooped by juxtaposing pirate-geeks distributing it FREE for public. I know its sounds sweet to the gamers but come to think of it, if it weren’t for these developers, we won’t be having the chance to play this game, would we? So its a matter of giving back the credit. A credit that cost 57 euros (85 USD) for each copy of Modern Warfare 2 Game.

Friendly Reminder: It seems Microsoft Xbox Live officers are really serious on maintaining a pirate-free community on their games (Especially MW 2 has been recently released). In case you got your “Gamertag” (virtual identification on LIVE™) proven to be violating the policies of the community. You will be stripped down on playing LIVE for good. Meaning adios to all the multiplayer enabled games on Xbox/xbox 360 plus the 50 USD you paid for that TAG.

Well, you can always buy a new gamertag ayt, richboy?

For our readers who can’t understand why you should play games online: Playing Xbox softwares (like Modern Warfare 2), all by yourself, is really boring even with all the astounding effects, boombastic CGI-enviroment and the whole warfreak story. You will always feel the need to play it with thousands of gamers online. Keep in mind that your piggy-bank must always be on a handy spot for there’s a price to pay. So, GLHF guys!

    Well,

I for one was hoping this game would bomb because of the attacks suffered on the PC community (with Bobby Kotick, the Nazi Germany of the gaming industry). This is the very reason why I’m going to dive into the gaming industry, to give players what they want, not “just the necessities” to keep them entertained through poorly made annual releases.

The Article was a little too… erm.. “Slang” for my tastes though. Edumacation will do you some good.

Sensible comments/suggestions are always appreciated.
