Windows 8 will dominate the world this 2012 as Microsoft revealed in Tokyo press conference on May 24, 2011 that they would release a new version of Windows which will be optimized for tablets, PC and “variety of different form factors”, according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. It has been allegedly said that Windows 8 will open the door for the best of PC gaming.
Although Windows 7 has new improvements such as touch, ink and speech user interface, the Windows 8 would be highlighted for its PC gaming because it would spice up the Gaming world. Windows 8 would also power everything from netbooks to high-end workstations such as the Windows 8 slates, tablets, PCs, and variety of different form factors.
Microsoft has been quiet about Windows 8 Tablet UI. However, it was revealed that the tablet interface would be tile-based and would be mimicking the interface which is being used in the Windows Phone OS. The Windows 8 drag and drop command has been said to be better than the previous Windows because it has support in Windows Explorer. It is now possible to drag and drop files in the breadcrumb navigation in the Explorer address tab.
As of now, people would only hear rumors, news and leaks from the web as the Windows 8 arrives in the nearest store. No definite release date was given so stay tuned.
