From the disastrous non-delivery of Microsoft of the HP Tablet by Steve Ballmer, they look like they want to redeem themselves by teasing news media about a Windows 7 Slider Tablet at CES 2011.

Of course, they seem to be sticking with Steve Ballmer to release the tablets again. The tablets have been reported to run a version of Windows 7 and even a different tablet that will have a slide out keyboard. Looks like touchbased smartphones aren’t the only ones getting supersized, their keyboard cousins are getting the same treatment.
The new Samsung Slate device has been reported as having the same dimensions as the Apple iPad except for the thinness. Could be that the “unique” and “slick” slide out keyboard is the culprit for the bulk and is a different Tab-let (get it?) altogether.
MS CEO Ballmer will also be showing off more slates and tablets from other manufacturers such as from Dell that will also be running the same Windows 7 (or is it Windows Phone 7?) OS variant but there have been some rumores. These tablets are made with the business user in mind.
One rumor that seems to be up in the air is whether the OS will be Windows 7 or Windows 8, and there have been no solid proof or logical conjecture from other parties. Stay tuned for more Windows tablet rumors.
