Aside from the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops was the most sold game last year, Activision & Treyarch’s collaboration of revealing four DLCs kept the gamers interested and happy, as well as the pockets of Acti as it was revealed recently that these map-packs helped the company profit for more than a billion in revenues for Black Ops. Likewise, it’s obvious Acti will do the same once Modern Warfare 3 hits on November (who would not?).
While it’s expected the first MW3 DLC will only be available next year – like First Strike for Black Ops – there’s already an ongoing debate if Activision plans to milk their way out through the pockets of gamers again.
Actually, there’s a cheaper way and that is, if you’ll become a member of Call of Duty: Elite which entitles you to receive all the upcoming 20 maps from four DLCs expected to arrive for Modern Warfare 3. You’ll be required to pay for $50 for a year in subscription. Come to think of it, it will be cheaper this way since if Acti decides to tagged the price of MW3’s DLC at $15 each, you should be paying $60 in total in a year. Aside from that, there’s a lot of bonus stuff you can bag (exclusive access, tournaments, bonuses, etc) when you become a COD Elite member. Likewise, this suites better for hardcore COD players but if you’re just there to try MW3, then it’s not recommended that you jump in with this one-year sub.
