Modu Mobile recently held an event where they have finally launched the Modu T phone. The Modu T phone claims to be the lightest mobile phone in the world today. In fact, it was awarded a Guinness World Record for being the lightest phone in the world. The Modu T phone is a product of the Israelian mobile company named Modu Mobile, a company that specializes in the development and manufacture of modular cell phones.
The Modu T phone is actually the same phone that was rumored before to be the company’s first Android-based smartphone, but now that it was announced it appears that it will run with the Qualcomm’s Brew OS just like the HTC Smart and not with an Android OS as previously speculated.
Just like the company’s previous model this upcoming phone will consists of a core unit and various accessory jackets. It will also come with a custom swipe-controlled UI and sport a 2.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240×320 pixels.
In addition to these features the Modu T phone also comes with the following specs as well:
- 2 GB onboard storage capacity
- A microSD slot
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Supports GPS
- Built-in FM radio and a music player
As mentioned earlier, the Modu T phone will also come with various accessory jackets. The camerafy jacket adds a 5 megapixel camera, while the textify jacket on the other hand gives it a full QWERTY keyboard. There is also a sportfy jacket that adds route-tracking for exercise and the boostify jacket that comes with a speakerphone system.
The Modu T phone is apparently a 3.5G touchphone which looks pretty good and are made out of high quality materials. And the best feature of this upcoming phone seems to be its size making it light and easy to carry no wonder it was awarded a Guinness title.
Moreso, Modu Mobile has also placed an emphasis on the phone’s voice quality and made sure that it comes with a user-friendly interface as well. In addition to these, the Modu T phone will also have access to a wide variety of services such as YouTube, Google Search as well as various social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.
It seems that the Modu T Phone offers something that is completely different and that is a mobile phone with modularity and convenient to use. Apparently, this phone will be available at a price that is between $ 400 and $ 500, but this price is still unofficial as of the moment. There is no release date specified yet for this upcoming phone. However, some gadget websites expect the Modu T phone to be around within the fourth quarter of the year.
