In celebration of NASA’s report that it discovered water on the moon, Google has added this doodle to its plethora of computer-crafted logos. If you hover on the Google logo it reads: Discovery of the Water on the Moon. A clear indication of Google’s support towards NASA’s success on finding water on the moon’s surface.
If you remember, NASA had sent an exploration known as LCROSS (Lunar CRater Observing and Sensing Satellite) or “moon bombing” in hope to find water and/or traces of hydrogen on the moon. NASA’s scientists sent missiles to specific crater locations on the moon’s surface in order to blast tons of ice caps. NASA is also planning to put a lunar base on the moon by 2024.
According to NASA’s report, they have successfully found water spots last October 9, 2009 (after the “moon bombing” experiment). We hope all goes well in this expedition.
This is certainly another “big” leap for man and of course, Big G will always be there to cheer and support.
