Last August, Motorola unveiled its rugged Defy+ Android handset to the world which is the successor of the original Defy of 2010. Today, Moto is collaborating with JCB on launching a limited edition Defy+ smartphone said to transform the “life proof” device into a “work proof” model.
Whatever that means, the Motorola Defy+ JCB edition will come with the company’s patented visco-elastic protective sleeve perfect for users who will use the device outdoors. Aside from that, the product comes preloaded with JCB apps like spirit level, theodolite, decibel meter, calculator even a DIY store locator which should perk the interest of those enthusiasts who work on construction area. Other features include remote communication via “Push to Talk” transforming the device into a walkie-talkie using cellular network, although it’s not mentioned if this feature will work on other handsets aside from this JCB-fied phone.
Under its hood, the device still packs the same innards like 1GHz single-core CPU, 3.7-inch touchscreen display made from Gorilla Glass, 5MP / 2MP rear and front cameras, powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and oh, the company claims it can last up to 7.1 hours of talk time. Interested? The device will remain exclusive on UK for £260 which make sense since Defy+ is said to be Brit’s “favorite life proof handset”. Do you agree?
