After the onslaught release of Moto-Droid in USA, many questions were left unanswered. One of them is ‘when will droid land to non-us territories’ ? As expected, the majority predicted that the first non-us territorial landfall of the Droid-kind will be on UK, and yes last December 7, the questions has been answered. Moto-Droid was officially announced to be unveiled on UK with an alias Motorola Milestone, some of the minute change of the specs were released:
A 3.7-inch 480×854 pixel display, 5-megapixel snapper with auto focus and dual-LED flash, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA connectivity. Those more inclined to wait for a subsidized contract-tied handset probably want to keep their eyes on the T-Mobile and Vodafone, both of which have been rumored as carriers of the new device in the UK.
The only caveat though is you can’t avail the Milestone on highstreet-shops until next year, However you can get the ‘unsubsidized’ handset via an online retailer called ‘Expansys’. The whole Droid deal will cost 449.99 euros and said to worked with any sim card from any network.
“The Milestone is designed to set a new standard in smart phones, with superior speed, power and features. This is a phone for consumers who are excited by the latest technology, and are willing to try advanced handsets and new mobile applications, particularly those that help them manage their fast-paced lives.”
On the contrary if you have seen the manly-like ads of Droid aired in USA, on western Europe it appears the tone of the commercial is a little bit more classy. Frankly, we kind of like it. Just don’t make it too ‘saucy’ like the ones on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
Trying something new, doesn’t hurt… sometimes… Agree?
