Nowadays, with the technology and gadgets that are circulating in the market, companies are looking forward in the future to 3D. The final quarter of the year 2009 has been a big year for 3D movies like UP. This 2010, the 3D Oscar winning movie Avatar has gained some attention to the special and high-tech effects employed by the crew.
I guess 3D is fast becoming the way of the future. With 3D movies and 3D glasses, you could almost reach out and grab the characters on the screen. You feel as if you’re also with them. It gives you a whole new viewing experience. Now, 3D isn’t only for movies, but for phones as well! There have been information leaking out that Motorola has designed and created a 3D phone, the Motorola MT820 3D.
Okay, so 3D movies, 3D glasses aren’t new to you but you’re asking what a 3D phone is. A 3D phone is actually just that, a phone that makes everything on its screen three dimensional. The images become more detailed and vivid because of that extra screen that’s employed by the new Motorola MT820. Read on and find out how the brains of this company came up with making a 3D phone.
Motorola’s 3D Ming Clamshell is a phone with flip-like covers. These are no ordinary covers as well, they’re transparent and they make use of the autostereoscopic technology and parallax barrier that was first used by Sharp and Toshiba’s 3D glass panels. Each screen produces a two dimensional view but when the two clamshell cover are closed, the effect becomes three dimensional.
The phone’s design is sleek but it’s not thin, it’s actually quite thick due to the transparent covers it has. There are no other specifications released yet, but from the pictures we can conclude it has a front-facing camera, volume and camera buttons, as well as a MicroSD slot hidden at the back cover.
The phone is thought to run on an Android OS, so Android fanatics out there are ecstatic about this news leak. There are no final say on how much and when exactly this will come out though, but this is one of the gadgets that are being watched out for.
