Compared to ordinary desktops, a nettop is smaller, cheaper, and consumes less power. It is basically used to surf the internet, process documents, and access web-based apps.

Aside from this, Nettops are fanless and does not have any optical disk drives thus making them noise-free. Termed as “basic PCs”, Nettops usually costs around $100 to $300. It is the perfect desktop alternative for first-time computer users.
And speaking of nettops, there’s a newly released model in Japan.
Created by Mouse Computer, the Lm-mini30X model is powered by an ATOM D525 dual core which runs on 1.8 GHz processor. It also built with NVIDIA ION GPU and is capable of 1080p display resolution. Thus with this nettop, you are able to play some low-end games.
Furthermore, there are two available models to choose from.
There’s the low-end model which costs 37,800¥ (around $450). Features include 2GB RAM, 320GB HD, and 32-bit Windows. While the high-end model costs around 49,980¥ (around $600) and features 4GB RAM, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity, HDMI output, and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. The price is a bit much, isn’t it?
However, no specific details have been announced as to whether this nettop will be available for global market release. Let’s just hope we won’t be traveling as far just to buy one.
If ever it’s available, would you care to buy one? Let us know in the comments.
