Gaming is the name of the game. This is perhaps what MSI thought of as it launches its new baby GX740.
MSI is a manufacturer of computer hardware products and solutions located in California who wowed the audience with its gaming notebook with some of the most innovative components there are in the market today. Toying with a 17 inch LCD screen with 1680×1050 resolution screen, 1.6GHz Core i7-720QM processor, 4 GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive 7200 rpm, Bluetooth connectivity, gigabit Ethernet, WiFi and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, it really is something to talk about.
Its enigmatic ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card supports DirectX 11 graphics and combines with MSI’s Turbo Boost Technology ensure utmost enjoyment for the player while lowering power consumption. It sports a 9 hour battery life which is an “okay” battery life. In its magnificently styled brushed aluminum cover with red accents, it showcases chiclet keys in its keyboard for real accuracy and comfort while playing, and clearly marked W, A, S and D keys for quicker response during game plays. Sexy at seven pounds and only an inch-and-a-half thick, it’s one of the thinnest designs possible for gaming.
I am much in awe of this notebook and I believe MSI is right in saying they have some of the most innovative components in it. A notebook at 17 inch LCD screen is just wonderful and will prove to be really good to see those high resolution graphics. A 4 GB of external memory is the latest as opposed to previously featured 2GB of DDR3 memory. A 500GB hard drive is among the best hard drive capacity can one think of. One can store a lot of graphics and movies at this capacity as well as do a lot of multi-tasking. The ATI Radeon HD 5870 surely promotes a good resolution and is really designed for gaming purposes as well as the powerful Intel Core i7-720QM processor.
These one is for all gamers out there and at $1,399.99, it’s a good deal. But if you’re not into gaming, better skip the deal. Who needs all that memory capacity for your documents anyway!

This thing looks phenomenal! I’m kind of glad I’ve been holding off on buying one of those Alienware M11x gaming notebooks. I know I want a portable gaming notebook fairly soon, but it may be worth waiting until the end of the year to make a decision — especially with things like this around the corner.
