MSI Wind Top AP1920 and Wind Box Mini PC will rock 2010 | Specs Review

Posted on 28 December 2009 by pinoytutorial

MSI has announced  U160 netbook lately, and now they have a new desktop that will be showing off at the 2010 CES (Consumer Electronic Show) together with MSI U160. MSI didn’t just focus on savvy, good looking and powerful  gadgets, this time MSI is also trying to help consumers save energy and cost. How could it be possible? Simple, MSI PC’s will be infused with Intel’s new platform Pine Trail with an Atom processor (another one from Intel). These PC’s promises to give you efficiency when it comes to performance while helping you cut your electricity cost. It is said to consume up to 80% less of electricity compared to a conventional PC (CPU) .

Together with Intel’s non-stop innovation MSI  has now built a line of gadgets that will deliver us with enhanced performance and more earth friendly gadgets to use. So what is this new gadget from MSI?

It is their fascinating Wind Top (all-in-one PC) and Wind Box (Mini PCs), both equipped with Intel Pine trail platform.

Let’s start with MSI Wind Top AP1920 (predecessor is AP1900), this baby is an all in one PC (and so far it’s also the slimmest) not the typical netbook from MSI (this one doesn’t look like a mini laptop) it’s a monitor like PC that has its CPU integrated to the body itself so it looks like an LCD TV I must say. It measures 35mm in width and flaunts a 18.5 inch screen. This slim and sexy netbook is so fashionable it would look elegant to anywhere you place it! It will be injected with Atom D510 or D410 processor. It also boasts a staggering reduction of power consumption by over 50% – one of MSI’s main goal. See below one of AP1920’s older version AE2010 in action! The two have similar functionality except for a more advance features of AP1920.

Moving on with MSI Wind Box DC500 which will also be powered by Intel Pine Trail and Run Pineview just like AP1920, This Mini PC is pretty much smaller than your usual desktop tower (approximately 60% smaller ).  The Wind Box DE220 is smaller than DC500, so basically you can set up your monitor and your DE220 to look like it’s an all-in-one PC. You can place your  CPU sideways (flat on a table) and your LCD monitor placed on top of DE220 and it would look like an all-in-one desktop/nettop.

All three will help you save energy and space, but we can’t blame critics to rant and scrutinize the past performance of MSI’s gadget, I get to see comments that are not so good about other MSI gizmos performance, but we all know that we CAN’T have it all. Unless MSI knows how to listen to consumers criticism then maybe it will all be better someday, but for now you just have to bear with what these gadgets will be infused with.  No other details to inject your mind unfortunately, but we will update you guys once we get something official!
