Posted on 25 December 2009 by pinoytutorial

Intel has been pouring out new chipsets this last quarter of 2009, and all tycoons of gadgetry tends to infuse all their gizmo tech with Intel’s new processor! Since that is the case you wouldn’t really think MSI will be left behind right?

This U135 from MSI is the new Wind infused with Intel Pine Trail (Pineview is the processor and Pine trail is the platform where Pine view is placed). So what’s the buzz with the new platform?

It promises less cost and longer battery life, since the memory controller and GPU will be at the same platform with the CPU that means less chips (less cost), more space (lighter), less power needed (enhanced battery life)!

So that explains why there are laptops that gets slimmer and slimmer by the quarter or year! So to those who believes that weight is the basis of a laptops performance, you should be enlightened by now!

When will we see this U135 in the market? It has been said that it will officially be available for purchase this January of 2010! I’m just not sure when is the exact date, but I hope MSI will push thru with the January launch.

I bet you’re thinking what has MSI U135 has to offer, oh well I don’t know if there is something to rave about its features, here it is;

  • 10 inch LCD screen boasting a 600×1024 resolution display (so far this is the highest that I have seen)
  • 1.66 GHZ processor of Atom N450
  • GMA3150 with NM10 chip
  • Supporting a DDR2 667
  • Up to 2GB memory
  • 160 gigabyte Hard drive
  • Longer “staying alive” power of 7 hours (compared to other netbook’s that only has up to 6 hours)
  • Wi-Fi
  • Webcam with 1.3m resolution
  • Card reader
  • And as usual MS Win  Starter kit like everybody else
  • USB ports (3), D-sub and LAN

So far I have seen 3 colors of U135, I’m just not sure how many colors they plan to launch or release (it was said it has red too). The price tag will start at $350. I can say that I was pretty much amazed with the specs, I guess it pays to be the last to release a netbook (gives you time to improve the flaws of other netbooks that your competitors launched) so you can have the bragging rights and the last laugh.
