T-Mobile’s upcoming Android handset myTouch 4G slide codenamed Doubleshot appeared on FCC’s database. Fortunately we got a glimpse of this new baby. Granted that the photos leaked cannot be contenders for best photo of the week but it clearly shows us that this upcoming device is running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and Sense UI 3.0.
This device will be the successor to last year’s myTouch 4G and will flaunt support for T-Mobile’s HSPA + data network. As you can see from the images, the device retained some characteristics we saw from its predecessor such as the earpiece with chrome accent and landscape QWERTY keyboard.
It has been confirmed that this device packs an 8 megapixel camera but the display does not look like it’s 3D as rumored. The source who captured the photos confirmed this by saying that myTouch 4G Slide’s screen “isn’t anything to write home about”. The keyboard is described as “squishy”, similar with the one you can find on G2.
The good news though is that it has been reported to be much faster than the myTouch 4G and as quick as the HTC Sensation. Word on the street is that the myTouch 4G slide is due to ship on the first half of July so we don’t have to wait long before we see how it will fair with the HTC Sensation.
