The wait is over for some Android phone owners. No longer would they envy iPad users who have the ease of access to instantly watch TV shows and movie streams through an application Netflix.

The online streaming giant has opened its doors as their app will now be available to use on Android platform. The Netflix for Android app will enable the users to watch TV shows and movies whenever or wherever they want. Users will also be able to manage instant Queue and resume watching right where they left off.
Unfortunately, the current version does not support all Android-based phones. Netflix says that they need to test each of the Android handsets to see if the standard streaming playback features would be compatible on each unit. This is due to the Android fragmentation which has been a pain in the neck for developers because it limits their applications to support all devices regardless of the hardware.
For the meantime, if you are a member of Netflix you might want to give a try and download it FREE if your phone is supported. Currently Netflix supports, HTC Incredible with Android 2.2, HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3, HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2, HTC G2 with Android 2.2 , and Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3.
