You think PS3 is the only console blessed with a disc-free netflix capability? Well, the company has recently announced that Wii users can also enjoy watching movies on Netflix without the hassle of using that ready-to-play disc provided that you meet the following terms.
You need to have a Netflix plan of $8.99 a month in USA ($7.99 in Canada). Those users who already availed this can already download the Netflix from a Wii Shop Channel.
And my own unwritten rule is: Your place of residency should be in USA or Canada only and its imperative that you have a good internet bandwidth, at least to enjoy more movies if you are a movie-junkie.
Netflix also mentioned that there are already 3 million Wii users who are hooked on their mogul online entertainment application.
However unlike the PS3 on Netflix which gained other features like 1080i capability on watching other movies plus a faster playback, the press release for Wii on Netflix doesn’t disclosed anything about it. Perhaps in the future? Hopefully, those 3 million vacant Netflix CD could be traded into something productive like a stub for two movies, perhaps? Anyway for the meantime, just enjoy it!
