Imagine controlling the lights in your business without actually touching the switches. Yes, this is possible, with the latest lighting system of the Japanese company NetLED Technology Corporation.
The lighting system allows the LED lights to be controlled via Wi-fi or through the internet. To make the system work, you must first buy a netLED router, which acts as the intermediary between the LED bulbs and the company server. Next is to buy the 40W LED arrays wi-fi lights and install them on their designated places. It may be noted that the lights are said to have a lifespan of 40,000 hours. Afterwards, install the app on the smartphone, iPhone or iPad and the computer, and that’s it.
With the system working, employers can dim, turn on or off lights and most importantly, track energy usage for cost-saving measures. The lights can be dimmed in 10 different levels. The system also features a timer function to control the period of use for each light. Finally, the lights can be controlled per unit, in pairs or by a set, for convenient monitoring of the units in the system.
The apps for the iPhone is now available for download, while the apps for the iPad and android phones will be available this summer. The Net LED Corporation said that companies can cut energy consumption by 50%, provided, your company installs 200 units minimum.
Those who want to try this lighting system must be ready to spend $780 for the control box/router set, $260 for one unit wi-fi tube which can contain up to 3 NetLED lights, and $180 for each light. NetLED will be available in Japan on February 20 this year.
