The iPad 3 is said to surpass its precedessors, and competitors in many things, such as better screen resolution and battery power. In terms of battery power, the rumor is that iPad 3 will exhibit a 14,000 mAH battery power, more than 50% of the current power of existing iPad batteries which is at 6,500 mAH. Imagine the iPad3 can go on up to 20 hours; or is this news too good to be true?
The source of the rumors came from the supply chain of Apple on the manufacture of the iPad 3. Dynapack and Simplo Technology, which are the battery suppliers of Apple, did not comment on this news. Fans of the iPad 3 are now asking if this news on the iPad 3 battery is only a hoax.
There is no telling if this is actually a hoax. However, there are a lot of reasons why iPad 3 may feature a more powerful battery. One is the advances on lithium-polymer battery cells and system-on-chip power consumption, which could make longer battery life possible. Two, the competition on tablets right now is on power, that is, which can have the most power to run the best apps and at the longest time. Third and lastly, we all know how Apple wants to stay ahead of the game of tablets, especially since it is the one who started it all.
If existing iPads can have 10 hours of battery life, certainly Apple wants that upped more than what the competitors can give.
