The popular insider BoyGenius managed to throw in the icebucket on today’s slow news by revealing a possibility of the third-generation Google Phone called as Nexus 4G (starting from Nexus One). Likewise, unlike the mediocre specifications of the Samsung Nexus S a.k.a Nexus Two, the upcoming Google phone is expected to be more than just your average superphone, making it a great contender against Android’s hail mary, the Galaxy S II, or the pending release of the iPhone 5 a.k.a iPhone 4S on September.

Just to give you a quick wrap-up of its specifications, the Nexus 4G will not only be the flagship device for Ice Cream Sandwich OS (Android 4.0), it also possesses some almighty features like 1.2GHz / 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1080p (full HD) video recording capability, a super 5MP camera that can shoot well in low-light areas; supports 4G LTE and it comes on a “ultra-thin” body.
Come to think of it, the Galaxy S2 specs once hailed as the king became average when you compared it with this rumored smartphone. Make that situation double for the upcoming iPhone said to only boast a camera / CPU upgrades than its previous model.
However, everything is still on the first stage of its rumor-mill, and who knows how will it blossom until we reach its expected release on November? If you’ll look at that timeline, there could be other new breed of superphones that can match its power; nonetheless, the revelation of this next-generation Google phone handset is truly exhilarating.
