Just because Nexus S had its update for Gingerbread a couple of hours ago doesn’t mean Google will forget its older brother – Nexus One.
For those of you who managed to read about the latest news for these two devices this weekend, it appears Android is now rolling out a special mini-update to solve that mysterious SMS-bug we’ve seen a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday, Android 2.3.2 was revealed to Nexus S and it’s expected to be received by its users for this week. As of the moment, Nexus One will also have its ‘special’ update for this SMS bug and it will be called as Android 2.2.2 and this should have a stock called FRG83G coming from its older build (Android 2.2.1 FRG83D).

I know it’s kinda disappointing, because I’m sure some geek here was hoping it was the official Android 2.3 Gingerbread but alas! It isn’t the case. As far as we know, Gingerbread for Nexus One was announced last December and it should be revealed soon after the revelation of Nexus S. So far, there’s still no leaks pertaining to that, but if you can’t wait any longer, XDA-developers has a hack for that – as usual. Just don’t get too cocky okay?
